It was July of 2004, media executives Tim
Wrisley and
Troy Mills
establish Wheelhouse
Media with
the intent to build a local business that furthers the
quality of life in the city that raised them; Carlsbad.
Wrisley and Mills, both Carlsbad natives, had spent
their entire careers in media and wanted to take their
experience and put it towards this new venture. But
what kind of business would it be?
In the Fall of that same year, Carlsbad
Magazine
was born: a glossy, 4-color, award-winning magazine
that showcased all of the great things Carlsbad has
to offer. Two years later, they introduced ClickOnCarlsbad.com
as Carlsbad’s new online community and daily resource
for “All Things Carlsbad.”
Enter Encinitas
Magazine
The
one thing they knew from the beginning was that if this
business was a go in Carlsbad, Encinitas would be another
ideal community for a magazine to call it’s own.
With Encinitas’ rich surf culture and vast history
along Highway 101, the family community would be the
perfect fit to have a magazine that celebrates all of
the great things Cardiff-by-the-Sea,
Encinitas, Leucadia
and
Olivenhain
have to offer.
With that, Encinitas
Magazine
